Project an Magic Tradeshows

Well folks Im back from my trip and I must say there's nothing like home. Yeah, I am not a big fan of Vegas. For those who have been you understand the bright lights, constant ringing of slots, the heat, the $3 drink machines, long lines to do anything, and shitty expensive food. During the Magic tradeshow all this is multiplied by like 3. The tradeshows Magic and Project brings thousands and thousands and thousands of buyers and sales reps and designers to the strip of Las Vegas for a week of craziness. Not to mention all the celebrities that show up for the free goodies and the opportunity to seem cool, well I shouldn't say that some of the people that I look up too have known to show up in the past, but anyways back to what I was saying, it's crazy. The weather was 105 everyday and it is non-stop work from 9am to 11pm for three days.

But some good things about going out to Vegas is the chance to see friends that you never see and only talk too through emails and the office phone at work. The chance to see next years styles and who's really gonna do it big. I had some favorites and some not to favorites but over all I saw alot of advancement in some of my favorite brands. It's good to see the culture that I am apart of grow in certain areas. I feel like I'm growing everyday and it's important too! I guess what I 'm trying to say is that I watched and took notes mentally during my trip. I learned that alot of this "streetwear" if you may, has become very commercial. Everybody wants a piece of it, big corporate stores are wanting to have all of our brands on the shelves, everybody wants to have the EXCLUSIVE sneaker on their feet. It was crazy everyone started to kind of look the same, but you could tell the ones that are at the front of the progression and who really has been involved in this culture for quite sometime. Now I'm not knocking anybodies styles to each is own, I'm strictly saying how amazed that everyone is up on this. Now, I am a buyer for a store which carries alot of the best brands out there, so when going to the booths and looking at the lines and hearing that mall stores in my city want to put these brands on the shelves it makes me realize how commercial its gotten. Probably do to the internet, and also do to good quality stores, "specialty stores" making such an impact on the consumer. I guess that's the way it goes, things start off small, they get big, then it's something else. We just need to keep making new and exciting things and continue to grow and not overdue ourselves, try to keep things at a pace. Just my opinion. Alright, no more preaching for me! The following are some pics of my trip. I didn't take too many but I did take a few!

The moment you see this you hear slot machines.....In the airport!

This was a line, seriously, the line to get into project the first morning, everyone was told 9am,doors didn't open till 10am!

Yep, the lunch line!!!!

The Garbege crew holding it down, the Fall looks great and Spring looks even better! One of my favorites!

Yep another one....This was for a cab in front of the MGM Grand.

Greg from Mishka , wearing the infamous he-man shirt. Did you guys see the ad in the last issue of Vice. Mishka's line has grown tremendously, congrats to these guys for all the success!

This was the front of the building which host part of the Magic show. We decided to take the mono rail instead of a cab, but that was like $30 for three people! Once again Vegas getting your loot!

A random pic out of my rooms window early in the morning. It is cool watching the sun come up over the dessert.

Another damn line for the cab!

This right here almost was louder than my boy Karl's blazer in high school. If I remember correctly it was telling me to shoulder lean!

Live art is the best!

Atlanta's own DJ Drama getting some love from the LRG family. Drama is going to be a big part of LRG marketing campaign for Spring 07. Did you guys see him sitting next to Christina Agulerra during the VMA's the other night!!! Big things, Big things!

This is the scene in front of the LRG booth! Craziness, you feel like were outside a club!

Travis Barker sighting.....During my appt. with Stussy Mr. Barker tried coming into the booth and they wouldn't let him. But know hard feelings Travis, you should know you can't go inside a possible competitors booth!

The streetwear section of magic was insane. What a huge leap from Feb. It was nice to see these brands in nice booths.

Hey look another line for a cab!!!!!!!!!!

Here is what a $2 million view looks like. This was out of the new MGM signature condo's, yeah 2 million I don't know, but it was pretty dope tho!

And here we have another line for a cab, notice all of the people in front of me, all waiting for a cab. What a concept, lets wait a half hour to pay for a ride......I love it!!!

Only in Vegas......I don't understand the whole Elvis thing in Vegas....I took this while I was in line for a cab!

Buffie the Body was in the house, and so was her a$$.....I just don't know what to say.....um.... Oh my god might work...HUGE...For those who don't know who she is, she is one of the most famous video chicks in the world, do to the fact that her behind...Is so big....Maybe I will put a video on this update at the end....Um I don't know!

Peep the video!

Had to do the tourist thing! This is a happening place during the tradeshows!

Only in Vegas!

Your boy in the cab on the way home and ready!

Scotty from The Hundreds. I'm really really excited for these guys! You know earlier how I was saying that I could see who is in the front of the progression of this culture. Well the Hundreds are one of them. They just do it right.

I can't wait to go back!!
